Who is responsible for your information
Halls Gas is responsible for the personal information it decides to collect and use in connection with enquiries and work. Website and privacy enquiries can be sent to liam@hallsgas.co.uk or made by telephone on 07784 409696.
Information we may receive
The website quote form currently builds a message in your browser and opens WhatsApp; it does not submit the form to a Halls Gas website database. If you choose to send the message, text, email or photos, the information may include your name, contact details, postcode or property address, details of the service or appliance, job information and any photos or documents you choose to provide.
Why we use personal information and our lawful basis
- Enquiries and quotations: to respond to you, discuss the requested work and take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Booked work: to arrange, perform and administer the service and communicate with you about it.
- Legal, safety, accounting and record-keeping requirements: where information must be kept or used to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.
- Complaints and legal claims: where necessary for the legitimate interests of handling complaints, protecting the business and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Reviews or job photographs published on the website: only where the business has an appropriate lawful basis and, where consent is relied on, you can withdraw that consent for future use.
Who information may be shared with
Information is shared only where necessary. Depending on how you contact the business, this can include communications providers such as WhatsApp/Meta, SMS or email providers, the website hosting provider (names.co.uk / Team Blue Internet Services UK Limited), professional advisers where necessary, and regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where disclosure is required by law.
International processing
Some communications or technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the relevant provider's privacy information and applicable data-transfer safeguards apply. Halls Gas does not use the website to sell customer information.
How long information is kept
Information is not kept for longer than is reasonably necessary. The period depends on why the information is held. Enquiry information that does not lead to work is kept only while it is needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up. Job, invoice, safety and work records may need to be retained for longer where this is necessary for legal, tax, gas-safety, warranty, insurance or legal-claim purposes. Records are reviewed and deleted or securely disposed of when they are no longer needed.
Website hosting and technical logs
The site is hosted by names.co.uk. Hosting services can create technical or access logs needed to operate and secure the service. names.co.uk states that hosting system logs are available through its hosting platform and publishes its own privacy information about its processing.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent for future processing.
